Appreciate that an hour lesson runs from 00 to 55 mins past the hour.

Our guarantees:

You will only be taught by experienced medical students who have amassed over 1000 hours of independent tutoring experience. Your hours may be covered by a single or a range of tutors, we will aim to work within your requirements.

All tuition is available to interchange with each other e.g UCAT tuition may be applied to A-Level Chemistry instead by agreement. The Personal Statement packs include a read of the document so if you wish to turn UCAT (or any other) type of tuition over to personal statement tuition you will not receive the extra reviews of the document.

Duo Tutoring

Duo tutoring may be used as single tutoring with only one student however single tuition is not possible to switch to Duo tutoring. Duo tutoring requires you to find an additional person and discuss with them the times for the lessons. We are not responsible for providing you with a person to split duo tutoring with and you accept all responsibility for paying for and attending duo tutoring sessions even if one of you is unable to attend. We cannot offer any refund if one student is to cancel or change their mind. If both students request a refund then lessons will be refunded as per the refund policy.

Limitation of liability

We cannot guarantee a particular result in exams or applications. Although we work to within the best of our ability we cannot guarantee that the advised or information offered is correct or up to date.

We do not have an ongoing contract with you beyond the purchased lessons.

Returns & Refunds policy

You are entitled to a full refund of your order within 24 hours without giving any reason for doing so, excluding any hours of tuition already provided.

The deadline for a full refund of an order is 24 hours from the date you booked the tuition.

In order to exercise your right of cancellation, you must inform us of your decision by means of a clear statement.

You can inform us of your decision by e-mail info@tutorcyte.co.uk

We will reimburse you no later than 30 days from the day on which we receive the returned goods. We will use the same means of payment as you used for the order, and you will not incur any fees for such reimbursement.

Conditions for refunds:

In order for the goods to be eligible for a return, please make sure that:

  • The goods were purchased in the last 24 hours

  • The company cannot meet 5 hours of tuition in a week

The following goods cannot be returned:

  • Lessons that have already taken place

  • Lessons cancelled within 24 hours notice

  • When students request a refund due to a change of circumstance or no longer requiring tuition this is up to the company's discretion but will normally equate to a refund of hours not used, with hours that have been used being charged at the price of 40 pounds an hour (our 5 pack price).

We reserve the right to refuse refunds of any booked hours that do not meet the above return conditions at our sole discretion. We also reserve the right to refund any tuition at any time if we feel we can longer provide the service required or for any reason.

If we cannot provide the tuition required within the time frame required by you we will refund you the full cost of the unused portion of the package at the rate per lesson of that lesson pack. The terms of this will be 5 hours over the course of a week, 10 hours over the course of 2 weeks, or 15 hours over the course of 3 weeks. The 5 hours each week must offer at minimum 10 available slots over that week by the tutors within the hours of 8am to 8pm BST. If this is not suitable for the student the same limitations occur if the student requests a refund and lessons shall be refunded minus the £40/lesson price for single student lessons already done or £50/lesson for duo lessons already done. Wherever possible we will endeavour to ensure that we provide the allocated tuition within the timeframe.

Cancellation Policy:

If you fail to turn up to a pre-agreed lesson you will be charged the full price of the lesson (it will be removed from your lessons left to book). If you cancel within 24 hours you will be charged up to 100% of the lesson cost at the tutor's or company's discretion or it will be removed from lessons left to book.

Code of Conduct for the student:

Why we have a behaviour code: This code of behaviour is there to make sure everyone who takes part in Tutorcyte’s activities knows what is expected of them and feels safe, respected and valued. Tutorcyte must make sure that everyone taking part in our activities has seen, understood and agreed to follow the code of behaviour, and that they understand what will happen if there is inappropriate behaviour.

We expect people who take part in our services to display appropriate behaviour at all times. This includes behaviour that takes place outside our organisation and behaviour that takes place online.

This code of behaviour aims to: • identify acceptable and unacceptable behaviour • encourage cooperation, honesty, fairness and respect

  • create an environment where your self-esteem, self-respect and self-confidence will grow

  • encourage you to recognise and respect the rights of others

  • encourage you to take responsibility for your own behaviour

  • help resolve conflicts and make it clear what will happen if you decide not to follow the code.

Dos and don’ts for children and young people

You should: • be supportive and kind to others • be friendly • listen to others • be helpful • have good manners • treat everyone with respect • take responsibility for your own behaviour • talk to Louisa - co-founder about anything that worries or concerns you • follow this code of behaviour and other rules (including the law) • join in and have fun!

You shouldn’t: • be disrespectful to anyone else • bully other people (online or offline) • behave in a way that could be intimidating • be abusive towards anyone.

What happens if I do not follow the code of behaviour? This code of behaviour is part of our process for making sure everyone who takes part in our activities gets the support they need.

Minor or first-time incident If you behave in a way that doesn’t follow our behaviour code, our staff or volunteers will remind you about it and ask you to change your behaviour. This gives you the chance to think and to plan how you could behave differently, with support from staff and/or volunteers.

Formal warning If you continue not to follow the code of behaviour after your first reminder, or if your behaviour is more serious, you will be given a formal warning by the person running your activity. They will make a record about what happened and inform your parents or carers if it is appropriate. They will also talk with you about what happened and agree what support you need to improve your behaviour in the future. We might also decide that further steps should be taken, such as restricting you from taking part in some activities.

Final warning If the support we have put in place isn’t helping you to change your behaviour, we might need to give you a final warning. Again, this will be recorded and we’ll inform your parents or carers as appropriate. At this point, we might need to talk with you and your parents or carers about other services that might be more able to give you the support you need.

Child protection procedures If any member of staff or volunteer becomes concerned that your behaviour suggests you might be in need of protection or that you might present a risk of harm to other children and young people, they will follow our child protection procedures. This might involve making a referral to the local authority. If child protection procedures are necessary we will talk this through with you and your parents as soon as possible, unless doing so would put you in danger or interfere with a police investigation.

The role of parents and carers We see parents and carers as important in encouraging positive behaviour and will involve them as appropriate. We will always inform and involve your parents or carers if you receive a formal warning about your behaviour, unless doing so would put you in danger.
